Music

HMV Hammersmith Apollo – This famous venue is one of London’s key locations for entertainment. Established in 1932 and designed in the Art Deco style, the Apollo has been graced by numerous iconic musicians including The Beatles, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Queen, The Rolling Stones…  At present, the venue is mostly used for rock/pop concerts but is also used for comedy and television shows such as X-Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and Live at the Apollo.

O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire – The Empire has been a venue for live entertainment for over 100 years. Its size and architectural structure have led to it becoming a valued venue within the industry due to its intimacy and historic reputation.

Theatres

The Lyric Hammersmith – This theatre has a captivating programme that ranges from experimental to traditional and musical with a number of children’s productions too. It offers writers’ unique visions and creative diversity at more reasonable prices than the West End.

Riverside Studios – This venue encompasses an eclectic mix of media and arts with a variety of theatre productions, exhibitions, music and cinema. Its contemporary approach appeals to many international artists, as do its bar and restaurant.

Shopping

Kings Mall Hammersmith – Situated in the heart of Hammersmith, Kings Mall is a popular shopping centre that offers a wide selection of stores, from affordable high street fashion to gadgets, home accessories and food.

Westfield London – As one of Europe’s largest shopping complexes, Westfield offers over 275 stores ranging from luxury and designer goods to high street fashion, homeware, health and beauty; as well as bars and restaurants, and a multiscreen cinema.

Sport

Adria is within walking distance from Shepherds Bush which is home to Queens Park Rangers Football Club, but Fulham and Chelsea football clubs are easily accessible within minutes on the underground or bus.

Wimbledon Tennis Club is also within reach using public transport.

 

Outdoors

London Wetland Centre – Situated in Barnes, a short bus ride away from Hammersmith, the Centre is a wetland reserve managed by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.

Many attractive parks are located near Hammersmith; these include Kew Gardens, Richmond Park  and Hyde Park.

Adria is situated less than 10 minutes walk from Hammersmith Bridge and the many riverside pubs that look onto the Thames.

Culture

The London Eye, Big Ben and Houses of Parliament are located in Westminster, a mere 15 minute Tube ride away from Hammersmith.

South Kensington is home to the Natural History Museum, Science Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum which are also less than 15 minutes away from Hammersmith via the underground.

Other

The famous BBC Television Centre is located close to Adria and offers frequent tours of its studios.

The Olympia and Earl’s Court Exhibition Centres are also situated nearby.

Alternatively, you can effortlessly travel into the centre of London by Bus or Tube in less than 20 minutes to further explore what London has to offer.
